How the SwopShop works

1.  The freshStart Volunteers stock the shop with donated items.

2.  The children collect and sort recyclable materials, i.e. glass, tin, plastic, cardboard.

3.  The SwopShop opens for “business” and the children get their collections weighed.

4.  Mula points are allocated according to weight and kind of recyclables.

5. New points are added to the children’s personal registration cards.

6.  A personal shopper helps the children with their choices. Mula points are traded for goods, or points may be saved for a special dream.

7.  The children hand in their card, their purchases and savings are recorded …

8. …  then they receive a fruit.

9.  The children then have the option of joining activities at the Kiddies’ Corner.

10. The recycled material is collected by Knysna Municipality.
